He had hit a wall in training, and with it came heavy legs, so there was no magic with the ball, no flicks, no deft touches and, well, no goals. But a funny thing happened to the Red Bulls today against Manchester City in the finale of the Barclays New York Challenge. They won the game. And they did it playing a different level of soccer than they had played during the regular season. Macoumba Kandji scored seven minutes in and Dane Richards connected with 20 minutes to play as the Red Bulls finished third in the four-team tournament with a 2-1 victory in the rain before a crowd of 23,228 at Red Bull Arena. Henry announced his retirement from international soccer on Thursday. The 32-year-old former Arsenal and Barcelona striker, who signed for Major League Soccer (MLS) side New York Redbulls on Wednesday, played only a bit-part in France's World Cup campaign in South Africa, which ended at the group stage.
